¡Bienvenidos!

Welcome to our adventure! We are preparing to embark on a year-long road trip around South America and we’re happy to have you along for the ride. We’re very experienced riders – even our daughter, at only four years old, has put on some serious sidecar miles – but most of our travels have been in North America. Expanding our exploration to South America has been a long-time dream, now we just have to figure out all the logistics to make it a reality.

The idea of taking on a trip of this magnitude is a bit overwhelming and we were left wondering how to even begin. We always see these wonderful pictures and blogs from people who are out there living their dream, but how did they get there? How did they plan to leave the “real world” behind for a while and hit the road? How do they fund their trip? What resources are out there to help prepare for your travels without getting mired down in too many details or out-of-date information?

This got us thinking, maybe there are other people out there like us, who feel deterred from taking their dream trips because it just all seems like such a daunting undertaking. Maybe people would like to follow along and see how the sausage is made, so to speak. We’re normal people with normal jobs, obligations, bills, and a kid. We’re not independently wealthy and we haven’t won the lottery (…yet). We’ve just reached the tipping point where fear of the unknown has yielded to a passion for adventure and living life to the fullest.

So bienvenidos, welcome aboard, and strap in – this is sure to be one heck of a ride! South America, here we come!
